Verse 2 of 5

Hopes That Do Not Go Empty

har kay charan sadaa sukh-daa-ee.
The Lord's feet are forever peace-giving.
jo ichheh so-ee fal paavahi birthee aas na jaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Whatever fruit one desires, he receives; his hopes shall not go in vain. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Resting at the One's feet is always peace-giving.

Whatever your heart truly reaches for, you receive; a real hope does not go away empty.

A hope rooted in the One is not a hope thrown away.
The deeper layer

The Rahau: har ke charan sadaa sukhdaaee — the One's feet ever peace-giving; birthee aas na jaaee — hope not wasted.

A Question to Sit With

What is a hope you are holding that feels worth keeping?
