In plain words

Keeping the One in mind brings a deep, easy peace.

In the company and home of the good, that peace settles in on its own, and every pain fades.

The right company can settle peace into you without any effort.
The deeper layer

Remembering the One brings a deep peace, and that peace grows easiest in good company.

This is the rahaa-o line, the "pause" line. It is the center of the whole shabad, the idea everything else leans on. Santahu raam japat sukh paa-i-aa — "O saints, remembering the One, we find peace." A sant, or saint, is simply a good and loving person who lives close to the One.

Sant asthaan basay sukh sehjay — in the home of the good, peace settles in on its own. Sehjay means with natural ease, the calm that comes without forcing. It is like walking into a kitchen where everyone is kind to each other. You relax without even trying. Remembering the One together, among good people, lets every pain slowly fade.

A Question to Sit With

Whose company makes you feel calm and at ease just by being there?
