ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

This closeness, this love, comes as a gift from the teaching itself.
And so a humble heart keeps the Name in mind, again and again.
The love you are drawn to is itself a gift you receive, not something you manufacture.
gur poore te paavai — obtained from the perfect teaching; naam dhiaavai — meditating on the Name. The source of all the shabad's tender loves.
