jin achraj sobh banaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
He has created such wonder and glory! ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

This is the greatness of the True One.

Look at the wonder and beauty it has made — it is astonishing.

Real greatness shows itself in the sheer wonder of what has been made.
The deeper layer

Look at what the True One has made. It is simply amazing.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Santahu saachay kee vadi-aa-ee — friends, this is the greatness of the True One. Jin achraj sobh banaa-ee — who has made such wonder and beauty.

Think of the first time you saw a huge waterfall, or a sky full of stars far from city lights. You stop. You just say, "Wow."

That is the feeling here. It is the feeling behind Vaahiguru, a Sikh name for the One that carries the sense of "Wow, how wonderful!" The verse invites you to stop and feel that awe.

A Question to Sit With

What is something in the world so beautiful it fills you with wonder?
