In plain words

I look all around me, and everywhere I look, I see nothing but the One.

My eyes rest on it with such love that now I cannot even find words for anything else. There is only this.

When separation falls away, the One is all you can see.
The deeper layer

Kabir says that everywhere he looks, he sees only the One.

Du-ay du-ay lochan paykhaa: with both my eyes I look around. Ha-o har bin a-or na daykhaa: I see nothing except the One.

This is the kind of seeing that comes when the feeling of being apart from the One melts away. The whole world starts to look like one single presence.

Think of when you love someone very much, like a new baby brother or sister. You walk into a crowded room and your eyes find only them. Everything else fades.

Nain rahay rang laa-ee: my eyes rest on the One with love. Ab bay gal kahan na jaa-ee: now I can't talk about anything else.

The words ghar 2 at the top mean this is sung in the second "house," a musical setting.

A Question to Sit With

Has there ever been a moment when the whole world felt like one connected thing to you?
