Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The moment I catch sight of the One, a song rises up in me all on its own, I simply have to sing.
And as I sing, a deep calm settles over me, a steady patience, and I feel held and unhurried.
When you truly notice the One, the song rises by itself and a deep calm settles in.
Namdev opens his Sorath section: jab daykhaa tab gaavaa (when I see Him, I sing). Seeing and singing are one motion, wonder overflowing into praise. Dheeraj paavaa (I become patient/steady) names the fruit: a settled, unhurried peace (Sahaj). ghar 2 marks the second House.
A Question to Sit With
What is something so beautiful that seeing it makes you want to sing, or shout, or simply smile?
