Every kind of living thing is Yours: the ones that hatch from eggs, the ones born from a mother, the ones that push up from the earth, the ones born from warmth and water. All of them, made by You.
Here is the one glory of Yours I have truly seen: You are moving and shining inside every single one.
Ancient Indian thought classified all life into four kinds of birth — andaj (egg-born), jayraj (womb-born), ut-bhuj (earth/sprout-born, like plants), saytaj (born of moisture, like insects). Guru Nanak uses the whole catalog to make one point: too sabhnaa maahi ravantaa — "You are pervading all of them." Whatever the outer form, the same One is inside. This is the deep root of the project's inclusivity: if the One is in every creature, every division between beings is a fiction. The humility is lovely too — "the one glory I have actually seen" — Nanak claims to grasp only a single ray.
What is a living creature very different from you that still shares this same aliveness?
