In plain words

The One is so great, so wonderful to see. Through the One, everything falls into place.

Nanak has met the perfect teacher, and every sorrow has quietly melted away.

When life comes into alignment, even old sorrows quietly lose their grip.
The deeper layer

Guru Arjan ends by praising the One's greatness, and says meeting the Guru made his sorrows melt away.

Vadee vadi-aa-ee achraj sobhaa: the One's vadi-aa-ee, greatness, is huge, and its glory is amazing. But the verse quickly shows what that greatness does. Kaaraj aa-i-aa raasay: things come right. Life falls into place.

This isn't praise from far away. It's how it feels when life lines up with the One.

Naanak ka-o gur pooraa bhayti-o: Guru Arjan, speaking as Nanak, met the perfect Guru. Saglay dookh binaasay: all sorrows were cleared away.

That doesn't mean hard days never come. It means they lose their power to decide who you are. Think of a bad grade on one test. It still stings, but it doesn't tell the whole story of you.

A Question to Sit With

What is a worry you're ready to let quietly dissolve?
