sant parsaad har naam Dhi-aa-i-aa sarab kusal tab thee-aa. ||1||
By the Grace of the Saints, I meditate on the Lord's Name, and then, all comforts come to me. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
My body, my belongings, my very mind — I hold them all as belonging to the good and holy.
With their kindness I turn to the Name, and every comfort settles over me.
Holding your body, things, and mind lightly — as if shared — brings a comfort that gripping never does.
A shabad of joyful belonging. Tan santan kaa, Dhan santan kaa, man santan kaa — offering body, wealth, and mind to the sant, the community of the good — is not loss but relief: the self stops clutching. By sant parsaad, their grace, the Name is remembered and sarab kusal, all well-being, follows. The santan here means the holy fellowship, the saadhsangat.
A Question to Sit With
What is something you could share more freely instead of holding onto tightly?
