Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Even when You are being good to me, I do not always notice it as good — but You stay gentle with me anyway, always and always.
You are the place peace comes from, and the One who plans the whole design. Keep me safe — I am Your child.
Tum karahu bhalaa ham bhalo na jaanah — You do good, and we fail to see it as good. So much of what shapes us for the better does not feel good in the moment. The verse asks us to trust the deeper current even when we cannot read it. Bidhaata, the Architect of destiny, is also sukh-daaee, the Giver of peace — the design and the kindness are the same hand.
Can you think of a time something you did not want turned out to help you?
