Says Nanak, God has extended His Mercy, and so his mind and body blossom forth. ||4||12||23||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Struggles and sorrows melt away, and the grip of fear loosens its hold.
When kindness pours over a person, heart and body open up and blossom like a flower in the sun.
When kindness reaches you, the natural thing is to open up.
Kaatee jam kee faasaa is often rendered "the noose of death is cut" — read here more gently as the grip of fear loosening its hold. The real movement of the line is prabh kirpaa dhaaree... man tan bha-ay bigaasaa: mercy arrives, and the response is bigaas, blossoming — the same opening a flower makes toward light. Grace is always here; blossoming is what it looks like when we stop blocking it.
