Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Friends, show me the way — the real, practical way — to loosen the tight grip of ego and pride.
It is wise to ask others how to grow past your own pride.
The Pause is a genuine question asked of the santahu, the good company: ihaa bataavhu kaaree — show me the actual method that quiets haumai garab, ego and pride. This is the hinge of the whole shabad; everything after it is the answer. It matters that the question is asked of others — Sikhi assumes we heal this not in isolation but in company, learning the way from those already walking it.
A Question to Sit With
Who could you ask for honest help with something you struggle to change alone?
