Verse 4 of 4

The Door of Freedom Opens; Fear of Coming and Going Ends

gur keeno mukat du-aaraa.
The Guru has opened the door of liberation,
sabh sarisat karai jaikaaraa.
and the entire world applauds Him with cheers of victory.
naanak parabh mayrai saathay.
O Nanak, God is always with me;
janam maran bhai laathay. ||4||2||52||
my fears of birth and death are gone. ||4||2||52||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

A door to freedom swung open, and it felt like the whole world was cheering.

The One is always beside me now, and my fear of being born and dying has quietly gone.

Fear loosens its grip when you feel you are not walking alone.
The deeper layer

Mukat du-aaraa -- the door of liberation. Janam maran bhai laathay -- the fear that clings to birth and death lifts, not because those things stop, but because the One is felt as always alongside (prabh mayrai saathay).

A Question to Sit With

What feels less scary when someone you trust is right beside you?
