Verse 2 of 4

In Your Shelter There Is No Fear

ਜਪਿ ਅਨਦਿ ਰਹਉ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣਾ ॥

Meditating on the Guru's feet, I am in bliss.
ਭਉ ਕਤਹਿ ਨਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

There is no fear at all, in God's Sanctuary. ||Pause||

You dwell in the hearts of Your slaves, Lord.

God has laid the eternal foundation.

In plain words

When I hold the teaching close, I live in quiet gladness, and inside Your shelter there is nothing to be afraid of.

You live in the hearts of those who love You. You laid a foundation that cannot shake. You are my strength, my wealth, my resting place.

Real safety comes from what cannot be shaken, not from what you can gather.
The deeper layer

The Rahau plus its verse: bha-o kateh nahee prabh sarnaa -- no fear at all in the shelter. Abichal neev -- an unshakeable foundation; the security here is not from having much, but from resting on something that cannot move.

A Question to Sit With

What is something steady in your life that you can lean on when things feel wobbly?
