Now every part of time turns beautiful: all twelve months, the seasons, the weeks and days,
right down to the hours and minutes and seconds, when the True One comes and meets me with natural ease.
My Beloved has met me, and everything in my life is set right. The Creator knows every way and means.
I am loved by the One who made me lovely. We have met, and I enjoy that love.
The bed of my heart becomes beautiful when the Beloved is near. Following the Guru, the good fortune written on my forehead has woken up.
Nanak says: day and night my Beloved delights in me. With the One as my own, my belonging lasts forever.
After twelve months of longing comes pure joy.
Once the heart has met the One it loves, all of time turns beautiful. The months, the seasons, the weeks and days. Even the hours, the minutes and the seconds.
Nothing about the calendar had to change. Only the heart changed. It came home, and that made every moment shine.
Think of the day a grandparent you love finally arrives after a long trip. The same kitchen, the same Tuesday, the same clock on the wall. But suddenly every little moment feels golden.
Mastak bhaago means "the good fortune written on the forehead." Here it means the good that was always deep inside you wakes up and shines. The old poem pictures a bride and her husband. That picture is really about the heart and the Beloved.
The last line ends on thir sohaago, a belonging that lasts forever. After twelve months of longing, this is the arrival.
Think of a time you were completely happy — how did even the small, ordinary moments feel different?
