ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਾ ॥੧॥
daan day-ay saaDhoo kee Dhooraa. ||1||
He blesses us with the gift of the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One sees right into every heart and knows what's really there.

And it gives us the gift of learning from the humblest, kindest people.

The One sees right into your heart and knows the real you — and helps you learn from kind, humble people.
The deeper layer

The One sees into your heart and knows the real you.

Guru Arjan says it plainly. Antarjaamee so prabh pooraa: the perfect One is the Inner-knower, the One who sees inside every heart. That is meant as a comfort, not a warning. Think of a good friend who can tell you are sad even when you say you are fine. Being truly known feels safe.

Daan day-ay saadhoo kee dhooraa: the One gives us the gift of the dust of the saints' feet. That old picture means humility. It is the gift of being willing to learn from good, humble people.

A Question to Sit With

What can you learn from the humblest, kindest person you know?
