Twenty-four hours a day, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

A heart touched by kindness turns to remember the One.

Day and night, it keeps a quiet, glad song going.

Once your heart is warmed by something good, remembering it becomes a natural gladness all day long.
The deeper layer

Once kindness has touched a heart, remembering the One becomes a joy that hums all day.

Jis no nadar karay so dhi-aa-ay: the one who receives the One's kind glance keeps the One in mind. Nadar means a look of grace, a kind gaze.

Aath pahar har kay gun gaa-ay: all day and night, that person sings of the One's goodness. Aath pahar means the eight watches of the day, so all around the clock.

This is not a chore. Think of humming your favorite tune while you do homework or wash dishes. It just keeps playing in the background. Remembering becomes a steady gladness woven through the whole day.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing could hum quietly in the background of your whole day?
