Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One tenderly cares for every living creature.

And I simply rest at the door of that great kindness.

The One tenderly cares for every living creature — and you can always come rest at its door.
The deeper layer

The One cares for every living creature, and we can always come and rest at its door.

Jee-a jant saglay partipaaray: the One cares for and feeds all beings and creatures. The One who is so vast is also a tender carer. Every ant, bird, and person is looked after.

Saran pari-o naanak har du-aaray: Nanak comes to shelter at the One's door.

Think of a grandparent's house where the door is always open. You can show up any time, and there is always a warm meal and a place to sit. The One is like that for every creature, and for you.

A Question to Sit With

How does it feel to know that every creature, including you, is cared for?
