In plain words

Turning toward the good is itself something you're gently blessed into.

And that turning is a kind of quiet greatness.

Turning toward the good is a quiet kind of greatness — the dignity of a heart aligned with what's true.
The deeper layer

Turning toward the good is a gift. It carries a quiet kind of greatness.

Gurmukh jis no aap karay so ho-ay: a person becomes a gurmukh, one turned toward the One, when the One blesses them to. Even the turning is a gift. This gentle idea, that goodness is given by grace, runs all through Raag Wadahans.

Gurmukh aap vadaa-ee dayvai so-ay: and the One gives that person greatness.

It is not the loud kind of greatness, like winning a trophy in front of a crowd. It is more like the respect everyone feels for the kid who is always fair and kind. It is the quiet dignity of a heart lined up with what is true.

A Question to Sit With

What's the difference between loud showing-off greatness and quiet, true greatness?
