Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

A lasting peace comes from turning over good, true words in your heart.

I feel endless gratitude for the wisdom that showed me this.

Turning good, true words over gently in your heart brings a peace that lasts.
The deeper layer

Turning good words over in your heart brings a peace that lasts.

This is the rahao line, the "pause." It is the center of the whole shabad. Sadaa sukh saachai sabad veechaaree: lasting peace comes from thinking deeply about the Shabad, the True Word.

Think of a smooth stone you keep in your pocket. You turn it over and over, and it calms you. Good words work like that when we keep coming back to them.

Aapnay satgur vitahu sadaa balihaaree: I give myself, again and again, to my True Guru, the wise teacher. That is how deep the thank-you goes.

A Question to Sit With

What good words are worth turning over slowly in your mind?
