Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Facing the Guru, with love fixed on the One, you find the jewel.
Facing the Guru, you know its worth, naturally.
Facing the Guru, you do what is true.
Facing the Guru, your mind is happy with the True One.
Facing the Guru, you see the One no one can see, when it pleases the One.
Nanak says: the one who faces the Guru does not suffer the blows.
The greatest treasure is easy to walk past; learning to see it is the skill.
The jewel is easy to walk past; the gurmukh knows it on sight. Ratan is the jewel, the Naam, and parkhai is the jeweler's eye that sees its worth. Chot na khaavai means not taking the blows that land on a wandering mind.
