The heavenly beings and singers, the Siddhas and seekers, and Shiva in deep stillness remember that Naam.
The stars and the realm of Dhroo, and great devotees like Naarad and Prahlaad, remember the Naam.
The moon and the sun long for the Naam. It has lifted up even the mountains.
That Naam, which can never be tricked and carries the devotees across, came to Guru Amar Das.
The whole of creation, from the gods to the sun, moon and stars, longs for the Naam, naam ulaaseh, and that Naam came to Guru Amar Das.
Dhroo is the boy whose devotion made him the Pole Star. Naarad and Prahlaad are famous devotees from the old stories. Sail lo-a jin uDhri-aa: the Naam lifted up even the mountains.
The refrain closes each of these verses: so-ee naam achhal, that Naam that can never be tricked, came to Guru Amar Das.
