In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

I serve the Guru and bow down low.

Today is a day of celebration for me. Today I am full of the greatest joy.

My worry has lifted away, because I have met the Lord of the World.

Meeting what you love most can turn an ordinary day into a celebration.
The deeper layer

Meeting the One turns an ordinary day into a festival and lifts every worry.

The shabad opens with ੴ, the sign of the One, and a blessing: the One is found by the True Guru's grace.

Gur sayva-o kar namaskaar — I serve the Guru and bow. Then the word aaj, today, rings out twice. Aaj hamaarai mangalchaar — today there are songs of celebration in my home. Aaj hamaarai mahaa anand — today I am in great bliss.

Chint lathee bhaytay gobind — the worry has come off, like a heavy coat taken off on a warm day, because I have met the Lord of the World.

A Question to Sit With

What made a recent ordinary day suddenly feel like a celebration?
