Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The sickness is so serious; how can I find courage?

The One knows my sickness, and only the One can take the pain away.

My mind and body are full of faults.

I searched and searched, and found the Guru, O my brother!

The One who understands what is wrong is the One who can ease it.
The deeper layer

The One who knows what is wrong inside you is the One who can take the pain away.

Rog bujhai so kaatai peeraa: the One who understands the disease is the One who removes the pain. Dhoodhat khojat gur mele beeraa: after long searching, the seeker finds the Guru. Honest self-knowledge (avgan man maahi) is part of the healing.

A Question to Sit With

When something feels too big to fix, what helps you find your courage again?
