O God, you save some, and you enjoin others to serve the Guru.

They obtain the treasure of the Name of the Lord; peace comes to abide within their minds. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O One, You Yourself lift some out, and You Yourself set some to serve the Guru.

They find the treasure of the One's Naam, and peace comes to live in their minds.

When you find the treasure of the Naam, peace comes to stay.
The deeper layer

The One lifts people up and sets them to serve, and the treasure of the Naam brings peace.

Ik aapay kaadh la-ay prabh: some the One pulls out, by Its own hand. Aapay gur sayvaa prabh laa-ay: others the One joins to the Guru's service. They find the nidhaan, the treasure, of the Naam, and sukh, peace, comes to dwell within. Grace begins it, and peace is the fruit.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that brings a settled, peaceful feeling to your mind?
