Sexual desire, anger and egotism will be dispelled, and all troubles shall end. ||2||

In plain words

In the company of the good, redeem your mind, and adore the One around the clock.

Craving, anger and pride will be driven off, and every trouble will end.

Good company slowly buys back a mind that had been pawned to its compulsions — you don't suppress the worse, you crowd it with better.
The deeper layer

Good company wins back a mind that was taken over by its cravings.

saaDhsang uDhaar ih man — in the Saadh Sangat, the company of good people, set this mind free. Then the verse names three captors. The first, kaam, is strong craving. The second, kroDh, is anger. The third is pride. These three come up again and again in this raag, because they drive so much trouble.

The cure is not fighting them with gritted teeth. The cure is good company, and loving the One all day long. Fill the mind with better, and the worse fades.

Think of a garden. When good plants fill the soil, weeds find less room. Being in the Sangat slowly buys back a mind that had been handed over, like something left at a pawn shop.

A Question to Sit With

Which of the three — craving, anger, or pride — most 'owns' your mind lately? What good company might buy it back?
