Facing the teaching, one holds the One in mind; the unstruck melody sounds within, and attention rests on the True Name.
Day and night dyed in love, the mind delights in the Name; the Gurmukh sees the One, speaks the One, and naturally loves the One. Nanak says: the Gurmukh gains wisdom, and the thick dark of ignorance lifts.
The Shalok describes the awakened life as saturated and natural — the Gurmukh "naturally loves the Lord." Love is no longer effortful; it has become the person's default. The "unstruck melody" (anhad) — the felt inner music of the One's presence — sounds within, and ignorance's "pitch-black darkness" simply lifts before the light. Everything happens "naturally," the mark of a heart at home.
What good has become 'natural' for you — no longer forced, but simply who you are?
