Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Whoever keeps their True Guru close within,
that humble person tastes the sweet essence of the One with their own tongue.
Goodness can be tasted for yourself, sweet and full.
Keep the Guru close within, and you taste the sweetness of the One.
Har ras rasnaa chaakhai: tasting the sweet essence, ras, of the One on the tongue. The picture is pure delight, like the first bite of a ripe mango. Goodness is something you taste for yourself. Raakhai, keeping the Guru close, opens that taste.
