Those unto whom I tell my pain and frustration - they themselves are caught and stuck.

In all sorts of ways, Maya has cast the net; the knots cannot be loosened. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Everyone I go to with my troubles is caught and stuck too.

Maya has cast one net in so many different shapes, and its knots will not come loose.

Some knots cannot be loosened alone — and that is exactly why we reach for help.
The deeper layer

Everyone gets caught in the world's net, and its knots will not come loose by pulling.

Jai jai peh kaha-o baritha ha-o apunee: whoever I tell my trouble to. Tay-oo tay-oo gahay rahay atkaa-ay: they too are caught and stuck. Anik bhaant kee aykai jaalee: one net in countless shapes. Taa kee ganth nahee chhoraa-ay: its knots do not come loose. Think of a tangled necklace: the harder everyone pulls, the tighter it gets.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you turn to when a problem feels too tangled to solve by yourself?
