He is my breath of life, mind, wealth and everything. The Lord is the Treasure of Virtue and Peace. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One has loved me and made me the One's own, and this bond will never break.

The One is my breath of life, my mind, my wealth, my everything. The One is the treasure of goodness, and my peace.

The bond of love with the One holds through everything.
The deeper layer

Love from the One makes you belong, and that bond holds.

Laa-ay preet keen aapan: loving me, the One made me the One's own. Tootat nahee jor: the joining does not break. Think of a knot tied by someone who loves you, the kind that stays tight through every storm. Paraan man Dhan sarbaso: breath, mind, wealth, everything. Har gun niDhay sukh mor: the One is a treasure of goodness, and my peace.

A Question to Sit With
