kaalai kaval niranjan jaanai.
One who knows the Immaculate Lord chews up death.
boojhai karam so sabad pachhaanai.
One who understands karma, realizes the Word of the Shabad.
aapay jaanai aap pachhaanai sabh tis kaa choj sabaa-i-aa. ||11||
He Himself knows, and He Himself realizes. This whole world is all His play. ||11||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The one who knows the spotless One is no longer gripped by the fear of endings.
The one who understands how actions ripen hears the Word come alive.
The One knows and sees it all; this whole wide world is the One's joyful play.
Seen with clear eyes, the whole world is one great play of the One.
Kaalai kaval: death itself is swallowed up, and the fear of endings loses its grip. Understanding karam (how actions ripen) awakens the Word. And the whole world is seen as the One's choj, its joyful play, a note of wonder rather than fear.
