Within the Tenth Gate, dwells the Primal Lord, detached and unequalled. The unknowable reveals Himself. ||4||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
This body-village has nine open gates, made for every person alike.
But there is a tenth, hidden doorway.
Behind it the First One waits, free and beyond compare, and the One who seemed unknowable quietly shows itself.
There is a hidden door inside you that opens onto the One.
The nine gates are the body's openings; the tenth gate (dasvai) is the hidden inner doorway, an image borrowed from the yogis and turned inward. The note that the gates are made for each and every person keeps it universal. The unknowable makes itself known within.
A Question to Sit With
What helps you find the quiet doorway inside yourself?
