O Nanak, search and examine your own home, and you shall find the Supreme Soul, and the Name of the Lord. ||5||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

No one can call the First One to account; the One's court is true and just.

The flow of the One's Hukam, the way existence works, carries everything, and its mark is true.

Nanak says: search your own home, look closely, and there you will find the Great Soul and the Name.

Stop searching far away; look closely at your own heart.
The deeper layer

Alekh means beyond being written down or held to account. Hukam is the flow of existence, the way things work. The instruction is to search ghar apnaa, your own home, because that is where the Name is waiting.

A Question to Sit With

What have you been looking for outside that might be waiting inside?
