Home at Last, No More Wandering

sachai thaan vasai nirankaaraa.
In the True Place, the Formless Lord abides.
aap pachhaanai sabad veechaaraa.
Whoever understands his own self, contemplates the Word of the Shabad.
sachai mahal nivaas nirantar aavan jaan chukaa-i-aa. ||7||
He comes to abide deep within the True Mansion of His Presence, and his comings and goings are ended. ||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

In the true place, the One beyond all shapes lives.

Whoever comes to know their own self turns the Word over in their heart.

They come to rest deep inside the true home of the One, and their restless wandering comes to an end.

Knowing yourself is how the endless wandering finally rests.
The deeper layer

Nirankaar is the One beyond all form. Self-knowledge leads to veechaaraa, turning the Word over in the heart. Then aavan jaan chukaa-i-aa: the coming and going ends. Restless wandering comes to rest, like coming home.

A Question to Sit With

When do you feel most at home in yourself?
