ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
gi-aan ratan man pargat bha-i-aa.
The jewel of spiritual wisdom is revealed within the mind.
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਲਇਆ ॥
naam padaarath sehjay la-i-aa.
The wealth of the Naam is easily, intuitively received.
ਏਹ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
ayh vadi-aa-ee gur tay paa-ee satgur ka-o sad bal jaa-ee hay. ||9||
This glorious greatness is obtained from the Guru; I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||9||

The jewel of wisdom has lit up inside my mind. With ease, I have received the treasure of the Naam.
This greatness came from the Guru. I give myself to the True Guru, forever.
The jewel of wisdom lights up inside you as a gift from the Guru.
gyaan ratan pargat bhaiaa — the jewel of wisdom is revealed within. The Name is received sehjay (with ease). The closing sad bal jaaee (forever a sacrifice) is rendered as boundless gratitude — the natural response to a gift you could never have made yourself.
