In plain words

When the sun rises, the dark of night is gone. The Guru's priceless jewel clears away my not-knowing.

The True Guru is the jewel of wisdom, worth more than anything. By the One's kindness, I meet the Guru and find peace.

When the Guru's wisdom rises like the sun, not-knowing leaves like the night.
The deeper layer

Soor (sun) clearing away nis (night) and anDhi-aaraa (darkness) is the image for agi-aan (not-knowing) leaving. Light simply arrives, and the dark is gone. Karam milai — the meeting comes by grace, and with it, peace.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that felt scary until you understood it?
