The One Itself does everything and makes everything happen; the One Itself gives the glance of grace.
My mind and body are dyed in the Guru's Bani; my attention melts into serving.
The Unseen One, beyond all knowing, lives deep inside; the one who turns to the Guru comes to see the One.
Nanak says: the One gives to whoever the One pleases, and leads each of us on as the One wills.
The One does everything, and the One also lives quietly deep inside us.
Aapay karay karaa-ay prabh: the One does it all and makes it all happen. The One also gives nadar, the kind look of grace. When mind and body soak up the Guru's Word, attention melts into service.
Then the verse says the alakh abhayvaa, the Unseen One who is beyond figuring out, lives deep inside. Only someone turned toward the Guru can see it. Think of the wind. You can't see it, but you see the leaves dance. Guru Amar Das, signing as Nanak, ends by saying the One gives to whoever the One chooses, and leads each of us along.
How do you notice something real even when you cannot see it with your eyes?
