When The Doubt Clears

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
satgur tay gi-aan oopjai taaN ih sansaa jaa-ay.
Spiritual wisdom wells up through the True Guru, and then this cynicism is dispelled.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨੀ ਨਹ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
satgur tay har bujhee-ai garabh jonee nah paa-ay. ||2||
Through the True Guru, the Lord is realized, and then, he is not consigned to the womb of reincarnation ever again. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Wisdom rises up through the True Guru, and then this doubt goes away.

Through the True Guru, the One is understood, and then a person is not sent back to be born again and again.

When wisdom rises, the doubting voice quiets and the restless spinning stops.
The deeper layer

Wisdom from the Guru clears away doubt and ends the endless circling.

Gi-aan is wisdom. Sansaa is doubt, the sour voice that whispers nothing is worth it. Garabh jonee means being born again and again, round and round, life after life. Knowing the One brings that circling to rest. The movement is from wandering to rest.

A Question to Sit With

What quiets the doubting voice in your head?
