Whatever I was attached to, has perished.

The shop of false merchandise has closed down. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Whatever I held on to has worn away.
The shop of false goods has closed down.
Letting go of what was never lasting frees you to hold what is.
Everything you gather up wears out, and the shop of false goods closes.
Jo-ee jo-ee jori-o so-ee so-ee faati-o: whatever was gathered up has worn out and torn away. Jhoothai banaj, the trade in false goods, has packed up and gone. When the false shop closes, the heart is free for sach, what is true. After the waking comes the letting go.
A Question to Sit With
What is something you once thought you needed, but were freer without?
