Sikhism·Raag Malaar·Shabad 76
Verse 3 of 3

Whatever I Did, I Will See

ਕਹੁ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਭਇਓ ਜਬ ਲੇਖੋ ॥
kaho ravidaas bha-i-o jab laykho.
Says Ravi Daas, when the account is called for and given,
ਜੋਈ ਜੋਈ ਕੀਨੋ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਦੇਖਿਓ ॥੩॥੧॥੩॥
jo-ee jo-ee keeno so-ee so-ee daykhi-o. ||3||1||3||
whatever the mortal has done, he shall see. ||3||1||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Ravidas says: when the account is called for and given,

whatever each person has done, that is what they will see.

Live your days so that, looking back, you are glad of what you see.
The deeper layer

Whatever you do, you will one day see clearly.

Kahu ravidaas bha-i-o jab laykho: Ravidas says, when the account, laykhaa, is drawn up. Jo-ee jo-ee keeno so-ee so-ee daykhi-o: whatever one has done, one sees. Picture a life shown just as it was. Wake up, let go of the false, and live so that what you see is good. This is the last shabad of Raag Malaar, and the rain of grace has cleared the sky.

A Question to Sit With

If you looked back on today honestly, what would you be happiest to see?
