Nothing Here Stays Still

saarang mehlaa 9.
Saarang, Ninth Mehl:
kahaa man bikhi-aa si-o laptaahee.
O mortal, why are you engrossed in corruption?
||1|| rahaa-o.
No one is allowed to remain in this world; one comes, and another departs. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

Why wrap yourself so tightly around things that end up harming you?

No one gets to stay here forever — one arrives, another moves on, like an endless coming and going.

Everything here is coming and going; hold on gently.
The deeper layer

Ik aavahi ik jaahee — one arrives, one departs. Seeing that clearly loosens our grip on bikhiaa, the things that harm us when we cling to them.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you have watched change or move on, that once felt permanent?
