In plain words

If I forget my Master even for a moment, it feels like millions of days, like thousands of years.

Nanak says, when I found the Sangat gathered together, I met the One.

When you love the One, even a moment apart feels far too long.
The deeper layer

When you love the One, even a moment apart feels endless.

Ayk nimakh jay bisrai — if the One is forgotten even for an instant — that instant feels like millions of days. Even a moment's separation feels endless when love is deep. And the reunion comes, as so often in Saarang, in the saadhsangat: the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — where the One is met again.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what do you miss so much that a short time away feels long?
