In plain words

The One reached out a hand and steadied me, and gave me a life that never ends.

Nanak says: my mind filled up with joy, because the old tight fear that used to grip me — even the fear of dying — simply let go.

When the fear of loss lets go, the mind fills with quiet joy.
The deeper layer

Sad jeevan abinaasee is undying life — not endless clinging to the body, but the recognition that what you are at heart was never separate from the One, and so cannot be lost. Jam kee faasee — the noose of death — stands for the grip of that fear; when it loosens, the mind fills with anad, deep joy.

A Question to Sit With

What would change in your day if a fear you carry quietly loosened its grip?
