Verse 2 of 4

My Mind Blossoms Beholding You

ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੇ ॥
tooN pareetam tooN paraan aDhaaray.
You are my Beloved, the Support of my breath of life.
ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਗਸਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tum hee paykh paykh man bigsaaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Beholding You, gazing upon You, my mind blossoms forth. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are the one I love, the support of every breath.

Just looking toward You, again and again, my whole mind opens up like a flower.

Turning toward what you love makes your heart open like a flower.
The deeper layer

The Rahao: tum hee peykh peykh man bigsaaray — bigsaaray is blossoming, vigaas. The mind does not tense up before the One; it opens, the way a flower opens to the sun. Beholding what you love expands you rather than shrinking you.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that makes your heart feel like it is opening up?
